DREADFUL RECOMMENDATIONS - BOOKS ABOUT CLOTHES
This week I picked two fantastic reads that delve into the heart and soul of what clothing is. Both books explore in the own way why we wear clothing and the impact and effect that our clothing choices have on us. Whether it is the feel of the fabric on our skin or the outward effect that our clothes have on the perceptions of others around us. These books explore how and why we decide which garments to wear and the effect this has on us.

Patch Work A Life Among Clothes - Claire Wilcox
This whimsical, poetic book sings praise and love to all things textile. Clair Wilcox senior Fashion Curator at the V&A unpicks the threads of time and take you through her life and her experiences via up close explorations of memories created by clothing and textiles. I have never read a book written in this way Claire leads you through various times in her life all told via the feelings and emotions created by textiles, touch and sensations. A masterpiece like the garments Clair has spent her life working with.
